Have you ever walked into a room and thought… it’s pretty, but something feels tight? Like the space isn’t exhaling?

Most of the time, it’s not about buying something new. It’s about moving what you already have. In both interior design and home staging, layout is everything. It’s the quiet magic behind a room that feels open, calm, and easy to be in.

When I stage a home for sale, I think about how you move. Where you drop your bag. Where you sit with coffee. How the light wraps around the sofa at 4 p.m. The furniture isn’t glued to the walls. It floats just enough. The rug actually holds the seating together. The room feels grounded, but breathable.I create space around the pieces so the architecture can shine. I make sure the rug is generous, the bench at the foot of the bed is slightly slimmer than the mattress, and the walkways feel effortless. You want buyers to glide through the room, not zigzag.

Layout is subtle. It’s not loud. But when it’s right, the whole room softens. It feels bigger. Calmer. More intentional.

And that’s the difference between a space that just looks styled… and a space that feels good the moment you walk in.
